Those who have been following the Cubs are no doubt already aware that they ascended into first place when the SNMM show rolled into town. But did you also know that the Mets were in first also? And that Nicole is a huge Mets fan from way back? So the stage was set for big drama. As you can perhaps see from this picture, we were a bit surrounded by Mets fans (Susan B. was even sitting next to a Yankees fan of all things!). The Mets blew the game open in the 8th, but it was a close and exciting game up until that point! Despite the unfavorable outcome (at least as far as Susan B. was concerned), everyone had a great time. All agreed that Wrigley is, along with Fenway, the best venue to see a major league game. Fortunately, the Cubs were able to win the game on Saturday. They are playing for the series tonight in a nationally televised game on ESPN.

Yea! I've been alternating my Cubs hat with my Sox hat a bit these days just to lend support to the Cubs cause. The Sox are giving us a worry because their lead is dwindling but I figure I'll get at least one (and maybe two!) teams to cheer for in the post season.
Do you think I can wear Cubs and Red Sox regalia when I visit Wrigley?
Stephanie
Oh yeah! Cubs fans definitely feel a companionship with Red Sox fans even though you guys did finally win it. I think you'll feel right at home in Wrigley -- though if you just say the Sox they'll think you mean the White Sox and that could get you in a bit of trouble :^)
At the game the other day I was sitting next to this guy who was a Yankees fan of all things, making a tour of midwest ballparks in the majors. I was of course suspicious, him being a Yankee fan and all, but he turned out to be ok(though he did talk my ear off) -- even he had to admit that Wrigley and Fenway were the best parks in the league!
